Latin American low-cost carrier Viva Air has launched a new three-weekly direct international route between Miami and Santa Marta.
This will be the first direct route ever offered between the US and Colombian cities and it will start from 18 December.
The airline has offered direct flights from Miami to Medellin since December 2015, carrying more than 150,000 passengers.
Viva Air chief executive officer, Felix Antelo said: “In the first year we expect to carry more than 31 thousand customers, giving them the opportunity to travel to Colombia with our low fares.”
Viva Air began operations in 2012 in Colombia and in 2017 in Peru and recently purchased 50 new Airbus A320, 15 CEO and 35 NEO and plans to expand its model throughout the region.
