LOT Polish Airlines started a new Embraer ERJ-190 aircraft route between Budapest Airport and London City Airport on Monday (18 February).

The service will operate two times a day on six days of the week between the Hungarian capital and the financial centre of London.

The flight is mainly targeting business traffic as the airport said the schedule is ideal for them, as the morning flight delivers passengers to early and returns to Budapest in the evening, landing at 23:00h (local time).

London is the most popular destination from Budapest with six carriers provided services to five airports (Heathrow, Luton, Stansted, Gatwick and London-Southend) and now a sixth with LOT Polish Airlines to London City Airport.

Budapest Airport head of airline development, Balázs Bogáts said: “I am sure that LOT’s new flight to London City will quickly become popular with the traveling public, as it is a very spectacular and convenient way to arrive in the British capital

“The two flights per day fit in very well with the schedules of business travelers, who can thus undertake several meetings in a single day in the City and return to Budapest in the evening. Conversely, British businessmen can arrive in Budapest at 12:45h and return to London at 17:15h.”
