Ryanair’s Belgium pilots sign agreement, airline opens new Toulouse base

Ryanair said today (20 February) that its directly employed pilots based in Belgium have voted by a majority of 98 per cent in favour of a CLA (collective labour agreement) governing pay and conditions for the next four years.

The agreement was negotiated between Ryanair and the unions BeCa, CNE-CSC and LBC-NVK, to cover all of Ryanair’s directly employed Pilots in Belgium.

The Irish low-cost carrier also announced today it will open a new base at Toulouse in France from October 2019, as part of its winter 2019 schedule, with two based Boeing 737 aircraft as part of an investment of $200 million.

The carrier will operate 20 routes (11 new – connecting seven countries) to/from Alicante, Brest, Budapest, Lille, Luxembourg, Marseille, Oujda, Palermo, Porto, Tangier and Valencia, which will deliver one million passengers per annum at Toulouse Airport.

These routes will operate on the following frequencies – Alicante (two weekly), Brest (three), Budapest (two), Lille (daily), Luxembourg (three), Marseille (daily), Oujda (two), Palermo (two), Porto (three), Tangier (two) and Valencia (two).
