American Airlines subsidiary Piedmont Airlines will bring 70 airline ground handling jobs to Will Rogers World Airport (OKC) in Oklahoma City in May.

The company said hiring for these new positions is underway and ground handling duties include working on the airport ramp, aircraft cleaning and baggage service for up to 30 American Airlines and American Eagle flights per day.

“We are thrilled to team up with American Airlines in Oklahoma City, and look forward to providing customers at Will Rogers with safe, reliable ground service,” said Piedmont director of stations, John Keeton.

“We are looking for people who like to work outside, who like to work early or work late – people who understand that the airline business is not a ‘9 to 5’ job. It is hard work, but we build great teams and we succeed together.”

Piedmont’s ground handling team provides services to 80 airports across the country including Tulsa (Oklahoma), San Antonio (Texas) and Kansas City (Missouri).

Piedmont currently operates  a fleet of 48 Embraer E145 regional aircraft for American Airlines and American Eagle, with two additional aircraft arriving each month.
