United resumes daily New York-Athens flights

United Airlines today resumed a daily seasonal non-stop route between New York’s Newark Liberty International Airport and Athens International Airport.

The US carrier will operate a Boeing 767-400ER aircraft on the service will operate until 4 October.

United Airlines managing director of regional sales, Bob Schumacher said: “This service not only offers our Greek customers direct access to New York City, with over 70 non-stop connections from our New York/Newark hub customers can also conveniently connect to destinations across the US, Canada, Mexico and Central America.”

Athens International Airport director of communications and marketing, Ioanna Papadopoulou added the route caters for the increased passenger demand to and from the USA and, at the same time, further enhances the connectivity of Athens.
