Aeromexico Embraer 190 crashes after take-off but no fatalaties

An Aeromexico Embraer ERJ-190AR flight Am2431 crashed shortly after take-off from Guadalupe Victoria Airport in the state of Durango, Mexico yesterday (31 July) but miraculously there were no fatalities.

The Mexican carrier said the flight had departed Durango at about 15:00h (local time) and there were 101 people onboard – 97 passengers and 4 crew members, but 85 people were injured in the accident.

The E190 aircraft (similar to the one left) was heading for Benito Juarez International Airport in Mexico City.

A statement from the airline reads: “Our first priority is to ensure the security of our passengers and crew on board this aircraft.

“At present time we have no reports of any fatalities. We’re working with the corresponding authorities to provide medical attention to all aboard this flight.”
