Latvian airline airBaltic has announced its first destination for the summer season of 2019 – a four times a week route to Stuttgart starting 31 March.

airBaltic chief executive officer, Martin Gauss said: “Stuttgart is already our sixth destination in Germany, and we are confident the direct connection will be appreciated among business and leisure travellers alike.

“As one of the centres of the German car industry and natural landscapes, Stuttgart offers a lot to its visitors.”

The service is a new connection and carrier for Stuttgart Airport and the gateway says demand into the Baltic region has increased by 60 per cent.

During the first six months of 2018, airBaltic transported 1.8 million passengers – 20 per cent more than in the same period last year to its network spanning Europe, Scandinavia, Russia, CIS and the Middle East. It serves over 70 destinations from Riga, Tallinn and Vilnius.
