Domestic flights from Aberdeen to London Luton are set to return on Friday (17 July) when easyJet will relaunch a twice weekly service.
easyJet will operate flights to London Luton on a Friday and Sunday. Earlier this month a number routes restarted at Aberdeen International Airport including Alicante, Malaga and double daily flights to Heathrow.
Roger Hunt, interim managing director of Aberdeen International Airport, said: “We are in constant dialogue with our airline partners to ensure we support them with their restart plans. After a number of really challenging months and with lockdown beginning to show signs of easing, it is reassuring to see a number of routes restarting and frequencies increasing from Aberdeen.
“As the traffic slowly builds we have also increased our focus on maintaining public safety and that of our staff through the introduction of a series of enhanced safety measures. Bringing back business safely remains a key priority.
“It is therefore great to see easyJet back at Aberdeen International Airport further adding to the other services that are available from all of our airline partners.”
Ali Gayward, UK Country Manager for easyJet commented: “We are really pleased to be resuming flights from Aberdeen and starting to get customers reunited with loved ones, back to work or away on their much-needed summer holidays.
“Of course, the safety and wellbeing of our customers and crew remains our highest priority. This is why we have implemented a number of measures enhancing safety at each part of the journey from disinfecting the aircraft to requiring customers and crew to wear masks. These measures will remain in place for as long as is needed to ensure customers and crew are able to fly safely as the world continues to recover from the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.”
Aberdeen International Airport has introduced a series of health measures to provide a safe environment for staff and passengers as further services resume.
