Abu Dhabi Airports has appointed Carsten Nørland as its new Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), tasking him with overseeing commercial operations across the emirate’s five airports.
Mr Nørland, who brings international experience in aviation, infrastructure and consumer goods, will lead the operator’s strategy for route development, retail, duty-free, food and beverage, property management, and commercial partnerships.
He previously served as chief executive of Scandlines, where he spearheaded a company-wide transformation that delivered record freight and leisure traffic, financial growth, and a long-term repositioning of the business.
His career also includes senior roles at Royal Unibrew and Copenhagen Airport.
In his new role, Mr Nørland will be responsible for driving both aeronautical and non-aeronautical revenues, with a focus on airline partnerships, network expansion, commercial concessions, digital platforms, real estate, and passenger services.
Abu Dhabi Airports said his appointment reflects its commitment to delivering growth, diversifying revenue streams and enhancing customer experience across its expanding portfolio.
