Aeromexico was the world’s most punctual airline in January, according to new figures from aviation data firm Cirium.
In its Global On-Time Performance Report for January 2026, Cirium said 87.53% of Aeromexico flights arrived on schedule, putting the carrier top of the global rankings.
Hainan Airlines came second with an on-time performance of 86.84%, followed by Singapore Airlines on 84.14%. Saudia and LATAM Airlines completed the global top five, with 81.84% and 80.73% of flights arriving on time respectively.
Cirium said the results reflect strong operational performance despite ongoing pressures across the aviation industry, including weather disruption and capacity constraints.
European airlines
In Europe, ITA Airways was named the most punctual airline in January, with 86.80% of its flights arriving on time.
Spanish low-cost carrier Vueling took second place with an on-time score of 85.47%. Iberia, British Airways and Greece’s Aegean Airlines rounded out the top five.
British Airways recorded an on-time arrival rate of 78.23%, while Ryanair and easyJet also featured in the European top ten, with punctuality scores of 76.98% and 74.95% respectively.
Cancellations rise
The report also highlighted a sharp rise in flight cancellations across Europe. A total of 11,999 flights were cancelled in January, up 129% compared with 5,234 cancellations in December.
Cirium said the increase was driven largely by winter weather disruption and operational challenges during the traditionally difficult start to the year for airlines.
The full global and regional rankings are included in Cirium’s January 2026 report.
