airBaltic carries a record number of passengers

Latvian carrier airBaltic broke its record for a the number of passengers carried in a month as in July it welcomed 452,646 – 15 per cent more than the same month last year.

From January to July 2018, 2.32 million passengers used the airline’s network – 19 per cent more than the same period last year.

In July 2018, the airline operated 5,266 flights – 10 per cent more than in the same period of 2017. During the first seven months of 2018 airBaltic has operated 31, 845 flights. The airline’s load factor in July 2018 was at a level of 86 per cent, but during first seven months of 2018 it was 76 per cent.

airBaltic chief executive officer, Martin Gauss said: “Continuous double digit growth is something we are really proud of, yet we must prepare for the future. July was the very peak of our summer season, and we managed to maintain high reliability and customer service standards.”

The 15 minute flight punctuality indicator for airBaltic during the first seven months of 2018 reached a level of 86.5 per cent. Only two per cent of flights were delayed more than an hour.
