Air France is forecasting that 50 per cent of its long-haul flights from Paris will not be operated tomorrow (22 February) as an estimated 28 per cent of staff members are planning to strike over pay.
The carrier said it will run 75 per cent of its flights in total including 75 per cent of its medium-haul flights to and from Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport and 85 per cent of its short-haul flights.
Air France said in a statement that the flight schedule will be updated 24 hours in advance and disruptions and delays are to be expected.
It added: “Air France regrets this situation and is making every effort to minimise the inconvenience this strike action may cause to its customers.”
Staff at the French airline are reportedly looking to put pressure on management to get a six per cent increase in their salaries.
