Air India agrees to buy 250 planes from Airbus

Air India has agreed to purchase 250 aircraft from Airbus, marking a significant move for the airline and the aircraft manufacturer.

The deal, which was announced in a joint statement by Air India and Airbus, includes a mix of narrow and wide-body aircraft, and is valued at approximately $25 billion.

The purchase of these planes is a part of Air India’s plan to modernize its fleet and expand its operations.

The airline has been struggling financially for several years, and the new planes are expected to help it compete with other major airlines in the region.

Airbus, for its part, is pleased to have secured such a large order from one of India’s flagship carriers.

The company has been working hard to increase its presence in the Indian market, and this deal is a significant step towards that goal.

The order includes a mix of Airbus A320neo and A321neo narrow-body planes, as well as A330 and A350 wide-body planes.

These aircraft are known for their fuel efficiency and advanced technology, which will help Air India to reduce operating costs and improve its overall performance.

The delivery of the planes is expected to begin in 2023 and continue through 2030.

This will give Air India the time it needs to phase out its older planes and replace them with newer, more efficient aircraft.
