Air India Express launches new Kannur-Abu Dhabi route

Abu Dhabi International Airport has welcomed low-cost carrier Air India Express’ inaugural flight from Kannur (India) commencing three-weekly flights.

The inaugural Air India Express flight from Kannur touched down in Abu Dhabi on Sunday 9 December at 12:30h marking the  first destination for the airline from Kannur.

Abu Dhabi Airports’ chief commercial officer, Maarten De Groof said: “We are excited to be Air India Express’ first choice for their inaugural route. India has been one of our top generators of traffic, and we are always eager to expand the airport’ connectivity to this region in response to our passengers’ needs.”

Air India Express is a subsidiary of India’s flag carrier, Air India. The carrier provides connectivity to short/medium haul international routes in the Gulf and South East Asia.
