The Latvian national airline airBaltic is preparing for the summer season 2026, further strengthening its position as the leading carrier in the Baltics.
While some competitors are scaling back their presence in the region, airBaltic continues to expand its network and strengthen essential connectivity from Riga and beyond.
Building on the success of previous seasons, airBaltic will further grow its operations from Riga, expanding in Scandinavia, increasing flights to Germany, and renewing services to Scotland.
The company remains committed to ensuring that the Baltic region stays directly connected to key European and global destinations.
airBaltic remains focused on long-term growth and reliability. The airline continues to identify opportunities to strengthen its network – including the potential introduction of new routes and additional flight frequencies.
airBaltic consistently evaluates market demand to ensure that travelers across the Baltics continue to benefit from broad, stable, and convenient connectivity.
Mantas Vrubliauskas, Vice President Network Management of airBaltic: “While the market around us continues to evolve, airBaltic remains a dependable and forward-looking choice for travelers from Riga and the Baltics.
“At a time when other carriers are scaling back, we are moving in the opposite direction and strengthening our presence in the region.”
“We are here to stay, growing our network and ensuring that essential connectivity remains in the hands of a reliable national airline.
“The summer season 2026 will mark another step forward in meeting the growing demand and supporting the region’s development”.
As announced earlier, for the upcoming summer season airBaltic will launch new routes from Riga to Kaunas (Lithuania), Oulu (Finland), and Antalya (Turkey), which until now has only been served as a charter flight.
The airline also plans to relaunch flights from Riga to Aberdeen (United Kingdom), Belgrade (Serbia), and Yerevan (Armenia), further broadening its network.
Additionally, airBaltic will increase frequencies on 20 existing routes from Riga, including to destinations such as Istanbul (Turkey), Larnaca (Cyprus), Malaga (Spain), Malta (Malta), Milan (Italy), Nice (France), Palma de Mallorca (Spain), and Tbilisi (Georgia), offering travelers greater convenience, flexibility, and choice.
