Air India SATS Airport Services (AISATS) has appointed Ramanathan Rajamani as its new chief executive officer and he took on the role in November.

He succeeds Mike Chew, who had held the position since October 2015. Rajamani has over 15 years of experience in the military and civil aviation sectors. He first joined SATS in 2011 as head of the engineering team.

Rajamani said he was honoured to have the opportunity to lead AISATS in a “new direction”. He added: “AISATS has served the Indian market with merit by introducing many pioneering initiatives within the ground handling industry.

“With the use of technology and digitisation our aim is to deliver trendsetting airport solutions thereby enhancing the customer experience.

“With a strong leadership team now in place, we will continue to enable and empower our employees to deliver service excellence with passion. I look forward to establishing AISATS as the preferred airport solutions partner.”
