American Airlines donates more than $1.2 million for Hurricane Melissa relief efforts

American Airlines

American Airlines and AAdvantage members have raised more than $1.2 million for the American Red Cross to support relief efforts for communities impacted by Hurricane Melissa.

The funds will be used where they are needed most in coordination with global Red Cross partners.

This incredible response reflects the generosity of American’s AAdvantage members and the strength of the longstanding partnership with the Red Cross.

Caroline Clayton, American’s Chief Marketing Officer said: “We are proud to join forces with the Red Cross and Airlink to deliver critical aid to those affected by Hurricane Melissa.

“Caring for customers extends to supporting the communities we serve in their most heartbreaking and critical hours of need. We’re especially grateful to our AAdvantage members whose generosity helped make this possible.”

American has been a member of the Red Cross’s Annual Disaster Giving Program, a group of forward-thinking donors who provide support in advance of disasters, since 2014.

Fundraising is ongoing. From now through Nov. 11, AAdvantage members can earn 10 miles for every dollar donated to the Red Cross with a minimum $25 donation. Every contribution helps deliver hope and essential resources to those impacted by this hurricane.
