Arajet is set to launch direct flights from Chicago O’Hare International Airport to Punta Cana from November this year.
The Dominican flag carrier will operate the service three times per week.
CEO Victor Pacheco said in a statement: “Our continued growth enables greater connectivity for both tourists and the Dominican diaspora while supporting tourism and economic opportunity across the region.”
Arajet began flying out of the US this year. In February, the carrier launched flights between Miami and San Juan.
Chicago will be the fifth American city from which it flies to the Dominican Republic after also launching services from Boston, New York and Puerto Rico.
The airline said that travellers will be able to connect to other destinations throughout the Caribbean and Latin America from Punta Cana.
