Avolon, one of the world’s largest aircraft leasing companies, has announced significant fleet and financing activity in its third-quarter update for 2025.

The Dublin-based lessor said it had acquired 17 aircraft and sold 15 during the quarter, with 60 more already agreed for sale. It also signed letters of intent covering the purchase and lease of 10 additional aircraft.

Avolon placed eight aircraft from its orderbook, leaving 99% of its scheduled deliveries over the next two years already committed to airline customers.

In a major order during the quarter, the company confirmed an agreement with Airbus for 90 new aircraft, comprising 75 A321neo and 15 A330neo jets, to be delivered through to 2033.

By the end of September, Avolon’s owned, managed and committed fleet stood at 1,159 aircraft, including 522 new-technology models on order or under commitment.

On the financing side, the lessor raised $2.2bn (£1.8bn) in unsecured funding, while repaying $829m of secured debt and completing a $1bn tender offer.

The company said the moves had both extended debt maturities and increased the share of unsecured funding in its capital structure.
