Azul was once again in 2018 the most on-time airline in Brazil and across South America, according to data from the commercial aviation website FlightStats.

The site reports that 89.5 per cent of Azul’s flights departed within 15 minutes of their scheduled departure time. Azul also led all Brazilian and South American airlines in the A15 category, with 86.47 per cent of flights arriving within 15 minutes of their scheduled departure time.

This puts Azul among the top five most on-time airlines in the world when considering airlines with more than 100,000 or more yearly departures.

Azul chief executive officer, John Rodgeson said: “Here at Azul we focus on punctuality so that our customers can focus on what is really important, being with their family, friends or colleagues.

“Another year of being the industry leader in this category is an incredible accomplishment and I would like to thank our more than 12,000 crewmembers for taking care of our customers each and every day.

“The Azul network depends on this on-time performance to execute our 900 or so daily flights to more than 110 destinations in Brazil and around the world and our customers appreciate the unique and convenient connections that only Azul can provide.”
