A British Airways pilot due to fly a 777 to Mauritius was pulled from the plane amid concern that he was drunk.
The plane was about to take-off from London’s Gatwick airport after the alarm was raised after staff thought they could smell alcohol on the pilot.
Police reportedly boarded the plane and the first officer was led away in handcuffs.
The aircraft was delayed for over two hours as a replacement pilot was found to fly the plane.
BA stated tat they are taking the incident very seriously and are working with police closely to assist them.
