Brazil’s state development bank, BNDES, has approved 1.7 billion reais (£247 million / $312 million) in financing to support the export of 13 Embraer aircraft to US regional carrier SkyWest Airlines.

The financing, which will be paid in US dollars, will cover deliveries scheduled between late 2025 and the end of 2026, BNDES said in a statement.

SkyWest, one of the largest regional airlines in the United States, has become Embraer’s biggest customer in recent years.

In June, the Utah-based airline placed a firm order for 60 E175 regional jets, valued at $3.6 billion at list price, with options for 50 additional aircraft.

The deal further strengthens Embraer’s position in the North American regional aviation market, where the E175 remains a popular choice among airlines operating under major US carriers’ regional networks.
