Aircraft lessor BOC Aviation has delivered the third of five new Airbus A321neo aircraft to Chinese full-service carrier Sichuan Airlines.
The remaining two aircraft will be delivered by the end of 2019. All five aircraft are from the company’s existing order book.
BOC Aviation managing director and chief executive officer, Robert Martin said: “The deliveries to Sichuan Airlines mark a number of milestones for BOC Aviation: they are the first to our new customer Sichuan Airlines and they are our first A321NEO aircraft to be delivered from our orderbook.
“We are delighted to support the growth of one of China’s leading regional airlines with aircraft that are amongst the world’s most cost-effective and technologically advanced.”
Sichuan Airlines operates more than 270 routes carrying nearly 30 million passengers annually. It currently operates an all-Airbus fleet totaling 140 single and dual-aisle aircraft.
