British Airways has announced a major expansion of its long-haul services from London Heathrow and Gatwick for summer 2026, adding extra flights and new year-round routes to meet rising demand for leisure and business travel.

The airline confirmed that Bangkok, which returned to its network last year as a winter-only route, will now be operated year-round from Gatwick.

From summer 2026, the service will run three times a week, increasing to six during the winter.

Nearly 60,000 additional seats will be available on the route, supported by British Airways’ expanded codeshare with Bangkok Airways, offering onward connections to destinations such as Phuket and Phnom Penh.

In the Caribbean, British Airways will add an extra weekly service between Gatwick and Kingston, Jamaica, bringing the total to four per week.

The announcement comes as the Jamaican Tourist Board forecasts five million tourist arrivals by March 2026.

Across the Atlantic, the flag carrier will reinstate its double-daily service from Heathrow to Miami and reintroduce daily flights to Dallas-Fort Worth.

Las Vegas will see its frequency increase from 10 to 13 flights per week, while San Diego and Austin will both be upgraded to twice-daily services.

New York JFK flights will now operate exclusively from Heathrow, with nine daily services. The latest addition will be operated by Boeing 777-200 aircraft, offering First and the airline’s Club Suite cabin.

In the Middle East, British Airways will more than double its Heathrow–Bahrain service to daily, while Saudi Arabian routes will also see upgrades, with Jeddah rising to five flights a week and Riyadh to 14. Doha services will also increase to twice daily.

Neil Chernoff, British Airways’ chief planning and strategy officer, said: “We’re delighted to expand our long-haul network from London Heathrow and Gatwick next summer, adding more services to some of our most-loved destinations.

“Whether customers are travelling for business, leisure, or visiting loved ones, we hope they take advantage of these additional flights, which offer greater choice and convenience, making it easier than ever to connect with their favourite destinations around the world.”

The airline has also confirmed further growth in its short-haul network. From winter 2025, BA Euroflyer – its Gatwick-based subsidiary – will launch year-round services to Rabat in Morocco and Graz in Austria.
