Canberra Airport Open Day 2020 postponed

Canberra Airport Open Day update:

“After careful consideration, we’ve made the decision to postpone this year’s open day which was scheduled for 5 April 2020.

“The safety and well-being of our community and our employees is of the utmost importance to us.  We have listened to community concerns in relation to COVID-19 and we are taking a precautionary approach in making this decision.

“We have been carefully monitoring the public health situation and the approach of various governments and businesses in responding to identified cases. In this evolving environment, it is sensible that we postpone the open day—a large scale event with 30,000 attendees.

“Postponing the event now is also a sensible course of action to support our open day stall holders, suppliers, and airline partners, in order to avoid them incurring significant extra costs with a late cancellation—something we believe is important to support these partners at a time when businesses are being affected already by COVID-19.

“It is greatly disappointing that we are unable to hold our open day this year, yet we hope that you can appreciate the decision.

“In time we will provide further information including a proposed new date for the Canberra Airport Open Day and we welcome you to attend that event”.
