Celebi aviation expands ground handling operations significantly in India

Çelebi Aviation has been awarded with two key concessions in India – Cochin and Kannur. This expansion gives the company a strategic presence in the state of Kerala and expands our footprint further in the Indian Sub-Continent, deepening the concept of second homebased market.

The handling company went on to say: “Çelebi launched its operations in Cochin International Airport with the provision of handling services to Air Asia Thai flight on 7th of January 2018.

Çelebi, Air Asia Berhad and Air Asia Thai signed a three years ground handling agreement, thus embarking onto a partnership giving us the trust and opportunity to serve their flights in Cochin, the fourth International Airport in India, where Çelebi operates since 2009.

After the operational start up, Çelebi gave a reception on 8th of January, as an appreciation to CIAL Managing Director and CIAL entire management team, to our launch customer, Air Asia, all other airlines operating at COK and, most importantly to Çelebi’s team who worked for this task with enthusiasm and commitment to service excellence.

Furthermore, Kannur International Airport will be the 5th station of operations of Celebi in India. The airport is expected to begin commercial operations by the end of September 2018. We would be starting the Ground Handling Services as soon as the Airport is operational.

At the same time, Celebi India looks forward to business growth and support of airport users’ interests with the enhancement of competition and also value added solutions development.

2018 is going to be very exciting with some interesting opportunities ahead of us. Çelebi has sent in an expression of interest for the Air India Ground Handling arm’s sale and now with the GH regulation being released a few days back, we will also be pursuing more opportunities at both existing and new locations in our country.

With the opening of Cochin & Kannur and all the other opportunities that may crop up, 2018 is expected to be busy, critical and hence interesting for all of us.”
