Celebi Ground Handling has completed one year of ground handling operations at Cochin International Airport (CIAL) and has also announced an expansion at the Indian gateway.
The expansion will see an increase of its staff strength by 20 per cent from the current 700 people with 140 more staff employed. Celebi now handles three flights of Air Asia per day and 43 daily flights of Indigo at CIAL.
The Turkish ground handler employs 7,000 people in India, made its foray to south India through the Cochin. Along with CIAL, Celebi now operates in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kannur and Kochi.
Celebi, which has diversified operations including warehouse operation, terminal building construction and management, entered India by offering ground handling services in Mumbai in 2009 and in Delhi 2010.
