Denver International Airport (DEN) was named as the best airport in the US for the second year in a row at the annual Skytrax World Airport Awards which took place at Passenger Terminal EXPO in London last week.
The gateway was also awarded by passengers as the Best Regional Airport in North America, the second Best Airport in North America and the world’s 7th Best Regional Airport.
The Skytrax World Airport Awards are voted by customers in an annual global airport customer satisfaction survey. The survey, completed by more than 100 nationalities during a six-month period, assesses customer service and facilities across over 550 airports.
The survey evaluated the customer experience across check in, arrivals, transfers, shopping, security/immigration and departures.
The accolades for DEN follow years of record setting growth for the airport. In 2018, DEN celebrated the fifth consecutive year of record-setting passenger traffic with 64.5 million passengers served, a 5.1 per cent increase over 2017. International traffic at DEN also shattered growth records in 2018, serving nearly three million passengers, which was about a 14 per cent over 2017.
