Etihad Airways has carried more than two million passengers in a single month for the first time in its history, marking a record milestone for the Abu Dhabi-based carrier.

The airline welcomed 2.0 million travellers in August, a 22% increase compared with the same month last year.

It achieved a passenger load factor of 91%, up from 89% in August 2024, reflecting both strong demand and efficient use of capacity.

Etihad’s fleet has now expanded to 112 aircraft, serving 81 passenger destinations worldwide. Among the newest additions is the Airbus A321LR, which entered service in August.

The aircraft brings wide-body comfort to narrow-body operations in the region, offering First Class suites and lie-flat Business Class seating on medium-haul routes.

Between January and August, Etihad carried 14.2 million passengers, 18% more than during the same period last year, with an average load factor of 88%.

Antonoaldo Neves, Etihad’s chief executive, said: “August was a landmark month for Etihad as we carried more than 2 million passengers in a single month for the first time in our history.

“This record performance reflects the trust travellers place in our people and the extraordinary service they deliver every day.”
