Etihad Airways has officially launched its first direct service to Atlanta, Georgia, further expanding the airline’s growing North American network and linking the southeastern United States with Abu Dhabi and destinations beyond.
The inaugural flight departed from Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport and landed at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on 2 July, marking Atlanta as Etihad’s fifth gateway in the United States, alongside New York, Chicago, Washington D.C., and Boston.
The new route is operated using the airline’s state-of-the-art Airbus A350-1000 aircraft, featuring its latest long-haul cabin product.
The aircraft is known for its enhanced fuel efficiency, lower noise emissions, and modern passenger comforts.
Seamless Travel and Growing Demand
Passengers departing from Abu Dhabi benefit from the United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Preclearance facility at Zayed International Airport – the only one of its kind in the region.
This enables travellers to clear U.S. immigration before departure and arrive in the U.S. as domestic passengers, saving time on arrival.
Initially launched with four flights per week, strong early demand has prompted Etihad to fast-track plans to expand the service.
Daily flights between Abu Dhabi and Atlanta are now scheduled to begin in November 2025.
