UAE – Etihad has announced temporary restrictions on the number of passengers flying between Abu Dhabi and Sydney, the carrier said Monday.

“Following regulations being updated by the Australian authorities, a further limit has been placed on the number of passengers per flight allowed to disembark at Sydney International Airport,” an Etihad spokesperson told Khaleej Times in a statement.

The statement added, “As a result, Etihad Airways is temporarily restricting the number of passengers carried between Abu Dhabi and Sydney from January 15 until February 15, 2021.”

The government of Australia has put in place biosecurity measures and travel restrictions to help prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Travellers returning to Australia are encouraged to contact Etihad Airways before departure to ensure their travel plans are not disrupted.

The spokesperson said, “We will work closely with impacted guests and travel agents to notify them of the changes to their itineraries and re-accommodate them on alternative flights.”
