Eurowings to invest further in Sweden and launch operations at Malmö Airport

The German low cost carrier Eurowings is expanding its range of destinations on offer from the Öresund region and Malmö with a new air link to the capital of Kosovo and the country’s biggest city, Pristina.

“We welcome Eurowings and are pleased that they see more opportunities in Sweden and have chosen to invest in Malmö and the Öresund region,” says Elizabeth Axtelius, director aviation business at Swedavia.

“The whole Balkan region is a popular destination both for holiday-makers and for friends and family visiting from Malmö.

“Having more direct routes is important for growth in this region, and access will be important with the restart after the pandemic all across Sweden.

“The pace of vaccinations and travel restrictions are crucial to the recovery in Sweden and in the rest of the world, and we look forward to the situation when our passengers are able to travel again”.
