Helsinki-based Finnair has today appointed two new members to its executive board.

Ole Orvér has been appointed as chief commercial officer, and Nicklas Ilebrand as senior vice president, strategy. Both will start in their roles on 1 May, 2019.

Orvér has a long international career in several airlines, including Qatar Airways, LOT Polish Airlines, Air Berlin and SAS. In these airlines, he has mainly served in leadership positions in strategy, network management and sales. Most recently, he has worked as a consultant for both airlines and airport operators.

Ilebrand has previously worked at Nordea mainly in strategy and product and business development roles. He worked most recently as the head of product and business development of personal banking at Nordea Bank. Prior to that, he worked in international business consulting at McKinsey.

“I think Ole and Nicklas’ experience in international business development complements well the strong competencies we currently have in Finnair’s Executive Board,” says Finnair’s chief executive officer, Topi Manner.

“Ole Orvér has a long career working for several airlines, each with their own business logic. Nicklas Ilebrand has solid experience in strategy development as well as in digital products and service business development. We welcome both Ole and Nicklas warmly to the Finnair team.”
