Mika Stirkkinen is to head Finnair’s commercial unit on an interim basis after it was announced last month that current chief commercial officer (CCO) Juha Järvinen is to leave on 31 December, 2018 to become executive vice president of commercial at Virgin Atlantic.
Stirkkinen’s current role at Finnair is vice president, revenue management and pricing and he will take on the role temporarily and also be a member the carrier’s executive board during this interim period.
Finnair said it has already started the recruitment process for a new CCO and will communicate the results of this process in due course.
