First ever direct London-Australia flight takes off this weekend

The first ever direct London to Australia flight takes off this weekend, marking the berg beginning of the fabled ‘Kangaroo Route.’

The milestone flight – operated by a 787 Dreamliner – will fly from London on March 25, taking over 17 hours and marking the first ever direct flight to Australia from the UK.

The route stretches nearly 15 thousand kilometers around the globe.

The flight will leave London Heathrow at 1.15pm on Sunday and arrive into Perth at 1pm the following day; the plane will then fly on to Melbourne.
