Passenger screening company FraSec Luftsicherheit GmbH and Sasse Group, a provider of facility services, have formed a new strategic partnership in the area of aviation security.
As part of the agreed partnership, Fraport Security Services GmbH (a wholly-owned Fraport subsidiary) will sell a portion of the shares it holds in FraSec Luftsicherheit GmbH to Sasse Group.
The new partnership was formed with the common goal of maintaining the highest quality standards in aviation security, while further enhancing processes to improve efficiency.
FraSec Fraport Security GmbH will sell, in a first step, 26 percent of its shares in FraSec Luftsicherheit to Sasse Group (effective January 1, 2022).
In a second step one year later, a further 25 percent of the shares will be transferred to Sasse (effective January 1, 2023).
As a result, Sasse Group will then hold a 51 percent majority stake in FraSec Luftsicherheit.
By entering the new strategic partnership, FraSec Luftsicherheit is strengthening its competitive position for the future.
This is particularly true in light of Fraport’s planned takeover of responsibility from the German Ministry of the Interior (BMI) for conducting passenger security checks at Frankfurt Airport.
Effective January 1, 2023, Fraport will assume the management of passenger screening at FRA.
This will also include the selection of service providers to be contracted for performing the security checks.
