HAECO has announced the commencement of line maintenance support for Cathay Pacific’s Airbus A321neo fleet at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA), expanding its maintenance services to the airline’s narrowbody fleet.
Effective 1 July 2025, this partnership marks a new chapter in the collaboration between HAECO and Cathay Pacific, which now covers a wide range of maintenance, repair and overhaul services to Cathay Pacific’s entire fleet of narrowbody and widebody aircraft, including the Boeing 747-400F, 747-8F, 777-300, 777-300ER, Airbus A330-300, A350-900 and A350-1000 models as well as the newly added A321neo fleet.
Under this new agreement, HAECO will deliver a comprehensive suite of line maintenance solutions for Cathay Pacific, including line maintenance planning, transit checks with Certificates of Release to Service, cabin cleaning, cabin maintenance, overnight maintenance up to A-checks, engine on-wing maintenance, ground equipment support, aircraft exterior washing and aircraft-on-ground (AOG) recovery.
Gerald Steinhoff, chief commercial officer of HAECO, said: “HAECO has enjoyed a close partnership with Cathay Pacific since our inception 75 years ago.
“With this new contract, Cathay Pacific now becomes HAECO’s largest narrowbody customer by flight volume.
“We are proud to deepen our relationship with Hong Kong’s flag carrier.”
CEO Peter Murton added: “We are pleased to expand our services to Cathay Pacific, supporting their journey to become one of the world’s leading service brands with a shared commitment to safety and operational excellence.”
As a customer-centric MRO solution provider, HAECO leverages expertise at the Centre of Excellence (CoE), a joint department established in collaboration with Cathay Pacific in 2020 to provide streamlined line maintenance planning services with enhanced digitalisation.
With real-time dashboards, both HAECO and Cathay Pacific teams can plan, prepare effectively and in advance to maintenance tasks and AOG situations, benefiting from the CoE’s instant visibility on manpower, tooling, spare parts and equipment readiness.
With the fully operational Third-runway System and the upcoming opening of Terminal 2 at HKIA, HAECO is well-positioned to support its international customers in leveraging the opportunities presented by these new infrastructures while maintaining the highest safety standards.
Beyond Hong Kong, HAECO also provides line maintenance services at 19 stations in 17 cities across the Chinese Mainland. HAECO currently provides line maintenance services to Cathay Pacific in Chongqing, Nanjing, Wuhan, Xiamen and Zhengzhou.
