It is with great sadness that we report the death of Ian Martin Jones, who passed away early on Monday morning (17 June).
Ian had a long and distinguished career in journalism and publishing, having worked in Fleet Street for many years before going on to write for and edit a number of publications in the fields of transport and logistics.
For EVA, Ian edited Airline Ground Services (AGS) magazine from 2013- 2014, now known as Airline Routes and Ground Services (ARGS). Elsewhere, he edited such magazines as Handy Shipping Guide, Air Cargo Week (ACW), and Heavy Lift and Project Forwarding International (HLPFI).
Ian was a great friend to many of us at EVA, just as he was to so many others in the aviation and logistics publishing sectors. He was also an inspiration, as shown by the numerous accreditations and awards he won throughout his career. Furthermore, he showed great generosity in mentoring newcomers to the profession.
He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
