Japan Airlines (JAL) and Garuda Indonesia have expanded their codeshare routes providing customers additional options when traveling between Japan and Indonesia.
Effective 8 May, 2019, the two airlines will codeshare on Jakarta-Osaka Kansai and Jakarta-Nagoya Chubu routes operated by Garuda Indonesia.
For domestic flights operated by Japan Airlines, the carriers will add codeshare services on the Haneda=Osaka Itami route.
In addition to expanding the codeshare partnership, the carriers will look to enhance their frequent flyer programs and ultimately pursue a joint business structure in their respective market.
Codeshare flights are subject to government approval.
