Jet Airways is set to buy a further 75 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft worth an estimated $8.8 billion at list prices, according to a report by the Reuters news agency.
The Indian carrier reportedly needs the aircraft to meet passenger demand which continues to grow as the Indian aviation market soars both domestically and internationally.
Reuters said Jet Airways revealed the deal in a filing to the stock exchange late on Tuesday, but did not state whether the agreement was a formal order or a non-binding memorandum of understanding.
Boeing said in July it expected Indian airlines to order up to 2,100 aircraft worth $290 billion over the next 20 years.
Jet Airways penned a separate deal to purchase 75 other Boeing 737 MAX aircraft last year.
