Jet2.com has launched its first summer route to Innsbruck as it seeks to meet the expectations and demand of the British public.
However, with summer holiday travel from the UK banned until May 17 and restrictions likely to continue after that for many destinations, the flights will not take off until 2022.
Once they do, the UK-based airline and tour operator will operate weekly flights from May 28 to September 17 out of Birmingham and Bristol and twice-weekly flights from Manchester between May 25 and September 17.
The additional route means come 2022 and pandemic allowing, Jet2.com will fly to 72 sun and city destinations from its 10 UK bases.
The new flights have been added as a result of the strong demand the company is already seeing for holidays next year.
Jet2.com and Jet2holidays CEO Steve Heapy said: “We’re continuing to see confidence and strong demand from British holidaymakers looking to get away.
“As ever, we’ve listened to what customers are telling us and responded to that demand by announcing the start of services to Innsbruck in the summer from Manchester, Birmingham and Bristol Airports for summer 22.”
