JetBlue sees passenger traffic rise 6% in February

JetBlue Airways has reported in its preliminary traffic results for February 2019 that traffic in the month increased six per cent from February 2018, on a capacity increase of 7.5 per cent.

The airline welcomed 3.9 million passengers and capacity rose to 4.8 million available seats with a load factor in the month of 81.5 per cent, a fall of 1.1 percentage points on the same month last year.

JetBlue’s preliminary completion factor for February 2019 was 98.5 per cent and its on-time performance was 70 per cent. JetBlue continues to expect first quarter revenue per available seat mile (RASM) to range between (3.5) and (1.5) per cent.

In the first two months of the year, JetBlue has flown 8.01 million passengers, seven per cent more than the first two months of 2018 on a capacity rise of 8.7 per cent and a load factor average of 80.9 per cent, 1.3 percentage points down on January-February last year.
