JFK airport’s Terminal 4 in New York City was shut down Sunday after a water leak caused the baggage claim area to become flooded, causing substantial disruption.
The international terminal was closed around 3.30pm as the area became flooded.
It is believed that the severe cold weather in the US state caused the complications at the terminal.
A pipe in the sprinkler system broke down, cuasing water to flood into the terminal where passengers stood.
Passengers were advised to contact their airline for specific flight status updates.
