Leadership shake-up at Airbus as two key appointments made

Airbus has made changes to its senior leadership team after appointing a new chief financial officer (CFO) and a chief operating officer (COO) for its commercial aircraft unit.

The French aircraft manufacturer has named Dominik Asam (pictured left) as CFO, replacing Harald Wilhelm. Asam is currently CFO of Munich-based Infineon Technologies, and will join Airbus on 1 April 2019.

As CFO, he will report to future chief executive officer (CEO) Guillaume Faury and become a member of the Airbus Executive Committee.

Another high profile leadership change sees Michael Schöllhorn (pictured below left) take over as COO for Airbus Commercial Aircraft.

He takes over on 1 February, 2019 from Tom Williams, who is retiring on 31 December 2018. Schöllhorn is currently COO for BSH Home Appliances in Munich.

Current CEO Tom Enders is leaving and will remain CEO until the Airbus AGM on 10 April 2019.
