Lithuanian Airports are launching an international tender to lease the existing fuel storage facilities at Vilnius and Palanga airports for ten years to manage the existing infrastructure as efficiently as possible.
According to Dainius Ciuplys, Head of the Operations and Infrastructure Department of Lithuanian Airports, one of the tender objectives is to attract international, experienced market leaders with experience in aviation fuel infrastructure management at other airports.
“Lithuanian Airports is guided by the approach that the existing infrastructure must be managed efficiently, using professionals in their field, and creating a mutually beneficial partnership,” says Mr Čiuplys.
“It is important for us that the managed assets create added value, which is what we are aiming to achieve by launching an international tender for the lease of fuel infrastructure.”
The winner of the international tender will manage the specific aviation fuel infrastructure at the capital city and Palanga airport gates and the storage, quality control, dispensing, delivery to aircraft, and all other processes related to the management of the fuel infrastructure.
JET-A1 jet fuel has a capacity of 4,000 cubic metres at Vilnius Airport, 300 cubic metres at Palanga Airport and 25 cubic metres of aviation gasoline.
The tender for the lease of fuel depots will open on 7th July, with applications open from 2nd August and a closing date of 6th August.
