London Luton Airport workers are set to strike over the May Bank Holiday with passengers told to expect delays.
Workers – such as firefighters, ground staff and security – are set to take action over pay issues.
Unite, the union of which the workers are members of, have implored management at London Luton Airport to begin negotiating a fair deal for its members.
London Luton stated: “We are disappointed that Unite members have chosen this course of action and recognise the uncertainty this news will cause for our passengers. We are working with the 73% of staff who did not vote to strike, to mitigate the impact of any action.
“We also remain committed to continuing discussions with Unite in the interim before any such action can take place. We will keep passengers regularly updated via our website.”
The union has stated that workers have been unfairly compensated while bosses at the airport have received ‘sky-high’ pay increases as passenger numbers increase.
