The Lufthansa Group is expanding its winter flight schedule 2026/27 and bolstering its presence in the Nordic countries.
Starting December 4, 2026, Lufthansa will, for the first time, connect its Munich hub directly with Rovaniemi (Finland), the capital of Lapland, known as the “Home of Santa Claus.” This new route will operate on Fridays and Sundays.
Flight LH2466 departs Munich at 11:30 a.m. local time and lands in Rovaniemi at 3:45 p.m. Return flight LH2467 departs Rovaniemi at 4:40 p.m. and arrives in Munich at 6:55 p.m.
Lufthansa will deploy the modern Airbus A320Neo, renowned for its efficiency, low noise emissions, and fuel economy.
Alongside the new Rovaniemi connection, Lufthansa has announced additional adjustments to the winter flight schedule 2026/27.
Flights on the Frankfurt–Tromsø (Norway) and Munich–Tromsø routes will each increase by two weekly connections.
Seasonal increases are planned for February to March 2027: Frankfurt–Rovaniemi will gain a third weekly flight, Frankfurt–Kuusamo (Finland) a second frequency, and Munich–Kittilä (Finland) a second and third weekly connection.
The Lufthansa Group reflects on the successful expansion of its services in the Nordic countries. Besides Lufthansa, other airlines in the Lufthansa Group, such as Austrian Airlines, Edelweiss, Eurowings, and Discover Airlines, also serve the Nordics, contributing to the region’s growing popularity.
