The union representing ground handlers and other staff at Lufthansa has stated that employees will strike if a deal on pay is not agreed by next week.
Verdi currently represents 33,000 staff at Lufthansa and has stated that the current offer by the airline is not good enough.
The airline has reported offered a 2.8% pay increase for 18 months followed by a further 2.5% raise for a further 18 months.
Verdi stated that this was nowhere near enough.
