A luxury airline specialising in all-business class travel is set to expand into Western Europe, with new routes linking the Maldives to London and Paris.
beOnd said the services will begin in December, offering high-end travellers direct connections between the Indian Ocean destination and two of Europe’s प्रमुख capitals.
The flights will connect Malé International Airport with both London Heathrow Airport and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, with three weekly services planned on each route.
Passengers will travel in lie-flat business class seats across the entire aircraft, alongside what the airline describes as curated onboard dining and a premium service experience.
The carrier already operates European routes to Zurich, Munich and Milan, with London and Paris set to become its fourth and fifth destinations in the region.
Founded with backing from investment firm Arabesque and the Maldivian SIMDI Group, beOnd is headquartered in Dubai and operates from its base in the Maldives.
Given the country’s remote geography, most international visitors arrive by air, with foreign airlines dominating traffic. BeOnd aims to differentiate itself by targeting the luxury leisure market with an all-business class product.
According to aviation data provider Aeroroutes, the new London and Paris services will operate overnight in both directions using Airbus A321 aircraft.
However, due to range limitations, flights will include a technical stop at Al Maktoum International Airport rather than operating non-stop.
The airline’s expansion will also see increased frequencies on existing European routes. Flights to Zurich are due to rise from two to five per week from mid-December, while Munich will increase from two to four weekly services.
BeOnd’s A321 aircraft, configured for premium travel, can carry up to 68 passengers, reflecting the airline’s focus on exclusivity over volume.
