Malaysia Airlines launches inaugural flight to Da Nang, Vietnam

Malaysia Airlines celebrated the successful launch of its inaugural flight to Da Nang, Vietnam, on 24 September, providing travellers with enhanced accessibility to this captivating destination from its main hub in Kuala Lumpur.

Holidaygoers can now explore the stunning mountain landscapes and scenic landmarks that Da Nang has to offer, with daily flights.

The inaugural flight MH748 from KLIA Terminal 1 (KUL) to Da Nang International Airport (DAD) departed at 0835hrs local time amidst a vibrant send-off event.

To commemorate the occasion, all passengers were gifted limited-edition postcards, curated in collaboration with photographer, Acacia Diana, showcasing stunning artistry that captured the beautiful essence of Da Nang.

The flight, operated by the Boeing 737-800 aircraft, carried a total of 155 passengers, including 12 in Business Class and 143 in Economy Class.

Upon arrival at DAD at 1025hrs local time, passengers were greeted with a warm welcome event, celebrating the new connection between Malaysia and Vietnam.

The return flight, MH749 from DAD to KUL, departed at 1125hrs and landed back in Kuala Lumpur at 1520hrs local time.

Ahmad Luqman Mohd Azmi, chief executive officer of airlines from Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), expressed his enthusiasm for the new route: “We are delighted to have launched our inaugural flight to Da Nang, achieving an impressive load factor of 90 percent, reflecting strong demand for travel to this beautiful city and symbolising another significant step in our commitment to being the carrier of choice for travellers.

“This new service marks our third destination to Vietnam, not only enhancing connectivity but also opening doors for our passengers to immerse themselves in the natural beauty and cultural richness of Da Nang, establishing the airline as the gateway to Asia and beyond.”
